Poorer than poor

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

As my parents tell something about there life when they are young. We always believe that our country is rich and improving from economic situations. When I was a child I don’t listen and I don’t observe what’s happening to our country. All I want is watch my favorite cartoons and play all day long.

As I grow up I notice that there is something different. I observe that I must be a good example and help our government like placing garbage in a trash can something like that. Time are going faster and faster and I notice in my life that I will be responsible to my self someday. I must find a job to feed my mouth. Then I observe that the exchange rate of peso is getting higher and higher. From 8 pesos now its 42 pesos that is the exchange rate of our money to US dollars. Next, the gasoline and the electricity oops there is one more thing the food are getting higher too. The peso is getting higher and the gasoline etc will compete to increase to there prices to recover there self. If the gasoline, electricity and food will be maintained in there prices and they will not increase there prices. They will be bankrupt and they will not recover there money. To save there asses they will increase all the prices, some businessman will increase there prices twice the price of the original prices. They said that it’s in demand and out of stock in the market or shortage that’s why theye are increasing the price twice of the products, it’s that the situation? It’s that going to help to produce the item by increasing the price twice? I think it’s a big no. The one who are affected are the ordinary people that there wages are not enough to eat 3 times a day. The wages of the Filipino worker are maintained to ordinary wages but the increases in gasoline, food are getting higher twice than there original prices. How come they can survive to live in our country? All of this is happening right now and we can’t stop it. We all suffer at this moment but there are some tarpaulins in the street say’s that the economy of the country are getting better, or we feel that our country are improving. If I ask you about this… do you feel that we are getting better? Do you feel that we can survive or do you believe on what the tarpaulins are saying?

As you observe the exchange rate of our money the exchange rate are getting lower from 57 become 41 and that means our economy are improving. But how come that the wages of the Filipino are not getting higher, how come that the food are getting higher and higher, how come that the gasoline and pamasahe are getting higher. Now the exchange of peso to dollars is 41 and now its 42 the news said that the electricity will be getting higher again. I think there is a problem from solving the math. We hope that if the exchange rate of peso will become lower of course the food, electricity and gasoline will become lower. They said that there will be a roll back on there prices in one week but the next week will become worst. They will increase there prices twice and that means the roll back in one week was cover up by the twice increase of the product. Now the exchange rate are getting higher so I think that the price of gasoline, food are maintained because when the exchange rate was getting lower they already raise there prices of there product but I was wrong, Automatic it became higher than before. How come that they can ignore this problem? The people cannot take it anymore. If they increase the wage maybe they can survive but for now there is no news about the increase of wages but there in news in increase of products. Can you recover? Can we survive?

Answer in Trivia of the month for May Bowline

Sunday, April 27, 2008

The bowline is an ancient but simple knot used to form a fixed loop at the end of a rope. The structure of the bowline is identical to that of the sheet bend, except in the bowline the end and the standing part are used to form the knot rather than two ends, as in the sheet bend.

The name has an earlier meaning, dating to the age of sail. On a square-rigged ship, a bowline (sometimes spelled as two words, bow line) is a rope that holds the edge of a square sail towards the bow of the ship and into the wind, preventing it from being taken aback. A ship is said to be on a "taut bowline" when these lines are made as taut as possible in order to sail close-hauled to the wind.

History

A very old knot, the bowline was first mentioned in John Smith's 1627 work, A Seaman's Grammar, though a "curiously intricate knot… akin to the bowline" was discovered on the rigging of the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Cheops's solar ship during an excavation.

Usage

The bowline is used mainly to make a temporary loop at the end of a line. Like the other similar knots, it can be made and then secured over an object like a post. Since the bowline is generally tied with the working end, it can be passed through a ring or other object before the knot is tied. This feature makes the Bowline a convenient and useful loop knot.

The bowline, or more commonly one of its variations such as the double bowline, is sometimes used by climbers to tie the end of the rope to a climbing harness, or the like. The advantage of the bowline in this application is that the knot is easy to untie even after it has been loaded. The disadvantage is that, while it is a very strong knot under load, it has a tendency to loosen up and become untied when it is unloaded and shaken around over a period of time, as might happen during a climb. Several other knots are more commonly used in modern climbing technique.

The bowline is commonly used in sailing small craft, for example to fasten a halyard to the head of a sail. The Federal Aviation Administration recommends the bowline knot for tying down light aircraft.

Tying

A mnemonic used to teach the tying of the bowline is to imagine the end of the rope as a rabbit, and where the knot will begin on the standing part, a tree trunk. First a loop is made near the end of the rope, which will act as the rabbit's hole. Then the "rabbit" comes up the hole, around and under the tree, and then back down the hole. When this configuration is tightened, a bowline has been tied.

Sony Vaio FZ

The VAIO FZ is available with a full range of Core 2 Duo processors (from the Intel T7100 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo up to the T7700 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo). The only screen offering is the 15.4" WXGA but the notebook can take up to 4GB of RAM. Built-in wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n is standard.

Our review version of the FZ, Intel graphics, has the following specifications:

  • Screen: 15.4-inch screen WXGA (1280 x 800) with XBRITE-ECO (glossy finish)
  • Processor: 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300
  • Hard Drive: 200 GB hard drive (SATA, 4200RPM)
  • Memory: 2GB RAM (PC5300, 667 MHz, DDR2 SDRAM) -- 4GB max memory
  • Optical Drive: DVD+-R Double layer / DVD+-RW Drive (Blu-ray drive optional)
  • Ports and Slots: Three USB 2.0, one FireWire 400 port, one ExpressCard 34, one S-Video, one VGA, one MemoryStick Pro reader, one SD card reader, headphone / line-out, microphone-in, modem, 10/100 Ethernet
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n)
  • Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT available)
  • Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
  • Dimensions: 14.0" x 10.2" x 1.4" (Width x Depth x Height)
  • Weight: 5.75 pounds

Build and Design

The overall first impression that one has when looking at the FZ series is that this notebook was designed to look clean and simple. From the matte black and silver plastics to the flat keyboard keys the FZ is a design that lacks the flashiness of the glossy, multi-colored notebooks that have become so popular in recent years. While some consumers will find the design a little boring, I consider the Spartan design elements to be quite attractive ... and less obnoxious than some of the "look at me, I'm so cool" glossy designs.

The lid of the VAIO FZ also has a nice matte finish with the VAIO lettering in a polished silver material. After opening the lid and seeing the black plastic interior and rounded brushed aluminum surface of the FZ you'll notice how this thin notebook has a remarkably solid build. The entire case is sturdy with relatively thick plastic and magnesium alloy reinforcement in just the right places. There are no creaks or signs of case flex anywhere to be found.

The VAIO FZ lid does not have a latch to hold it closed, but the hinge mechanism works well and firmly holds the lid in place. There is almost no flex to the screen lid unless you apply significant (as in way more pressure than you should) force.

Sony officially classifies the VAIO FZ as a “thin-and-light” notebook. While the 1.4" thickness is certainly thin, the weight of 5.75 pounds isn't particularly “light” by today’s standards. Still, given the fact we're talking about a notebook with a 15.4" screen, the weight is hardly an issue.

Performance

The Core 2 Duo processors that come with the VAIO FZ-series provide more than enough performance, even at the 1.8GHz low-end of the T7100. The 2.0GHz T7300 processor in our review unit packs an impressive punch … despite the fact that FZ isn't equipped with a dedicated graphics option. The 3DMark05 are low at first glance, but this is due to the fact that our FZ uses the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 (Intel 965 chipset) which shares the notebook’s system memory. The available NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT dedicated graphics would have performed significantly better.

Screen

The 15.4" glossy screen is a WXGA 1280 x 800 beauty with rich color and excellent contrast. The display features fairly bright and even backlighting with eight levels of brightness. Horizontal viewing angles are excellent, but the vertical viewing angles weren't as good. If the screen is tilted just slightly forward or back parts of the screen “wash out” or colors begin to invert ... making it all but impossible to see low contrast details.

Keyboard, Touchpad and Other Input Buttons

The keyboard on the VAIO FZ is quite nice if you don't mind flat keys. The keyboard itself has almost no flex, keys have minimal travel with excellent cushion and response, and there are dedicated keys for home, end, page up, and page down.

The touchpad is nice and large with a very usable and responsive surface. The mouse buttons are likewise nicely sized. The touchpad buttons have slightly shallow feedback and produce very noisy clicks.

The VAIO FZ also features dedicated media buttons above the keyboard and beneath the speakers. The media buttons make watching DVDs or listening to music files as easy as using a DVD or CD player. Next to the media buttons is a dedicated “AV Mode” quicklaunch button that lets you activate the media player functions without booting Windows. At least, that's what the AV Mode button does in theory. We received two FZ units from Sony and neither one had a functioning AV Mode button. The first review unit simply booted up Windows Vista when we pressed the AV Mode button. When we press the AV Mode button on our second review unit we get a black screen with an ugly DOS-style message (pictured below). At first we thought it might be an issue with our review units, but several new FZ owners reported in our forum that their AV Mode buttons don't work either.

Audio

The VAIO FZ has stereo sound via speakers located above the keyboard. With the speakers located on the top of the interior in this way they tend to direct the sound at you and make for a reasonably enjoyable listening experience. While the built-in speakers aren’t the best that I’ve heard in a notebook of this size, the sound they produce has good clarity and loudness despite the almost complete lack of bass. The headphone jack is located on the right side (a less than ideal location for people who like to plug in external speakers while using the optical drive and/or an external mouse).

Heat and Noise

The VAIO FZ runs extremely quiet with the 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor. Still, even though the fan is silent it kept heat under control. The bottom center area gets a bit warm, but temperatures remained comfortable enough to keep the FZ on the lap. Temperatures are likely kept within acceptable limits thanks to a rather large copper heatsink visible through the vent on the left side of the FZ.

As mentioned, the system fan is quiet when running. You have to put your ear down at desk level to hear it over any other ambient noise in the room. Despite the lack of noise the fan pushes out a significant amount of heat … enough to make your hand uncomfortable if you put your left hand next to the vent during benchmarking.

Battery

Battery life on the FZ was far from impressive. Even with the screen brightness set to less than half, wireless on, and Vista power settings set to maximize battery life, the FZ powered down in less than 3 hours (2 hours and 52 minutes). While I'm sure it's possible to get more battery life by turning the screen brightness all the way down and turning off the wireless, this isn't particularly useful for a modern notebook. Of course, Sony offers a high-capacity, long-life battery for the FZ if you're interested in longer battery life.

VGA and DVI connectors are included for connecting external monitors or a projector. Display: The display is a WUXGA 1920x1200 resolution XBRITE display from Sony. It is more than capable of doing justice to movies, television programs and most 3D games (not to mention your normal office type applications). The display supports ErgoBright for automatic brightness adjustment based on the ambient lighting (normally disabled by most users after the novelty wears out).Networking: This notebook offers exceptional connectivity with 10/100/1000Mbps wired ethernet and 802.11a/b/g wireless support. A 56K Winmodem is also available for those who are stuck with dial-up connections.Inputs/Outputs: 4 USB 2.0 ports, 1 Firewire, 1 TV Antenna, 1 S-VHS input and output, 2 Audio In/Out, Memory Card Reader, 1 PCMCIA Type II/1 slot with cardbus support are available. Microsoft Works 8.0, Quicken New User Edition, Adobe Photoshop Elements and PhotoShop Album are thrown in for good value along with trialware versions of Microsoft Office 2003 and Norton Internet Security (90 days).Weight: The weight is on the highend at around 15lbs with the AC adaptor, which makes this a difficult choice for someone who needs to travel or commute on a daily basis with this notebook. We have taken it on trips and yes, our backs hurt after going through 2 airports a day. Overall, a highly recommended piece of hardware for someone looking at a "portable" desktop replacement system.

Sony VAIO PCG-V505DX

The Sony VAIO PCG-V505DX Notebook comes with a 1.40-Ghz Pentium M (Centrino) chip, along with 512 MB of Ram and a 60 GB hard drive. It also has the usual DVD/CD-RW combo drive. Better off with a Dell. For those not hip to the computer lingo, a "Centrino" chip is an Intel-developed technology that basically works around three interconnected elements. These are: an Intel Pentium M CPU, an Intel 855 chipset, and a cord-free network connection. Let us break it down even more -- Centrino chips usually mean that your laptop will be extremely light, will have wireless connectivity, will be power efficient, and will generally go a bit faster than the advertised speed. In short, they're a good thing to have in your notebook. The VAIO PCG-V505DX is a pretty powerful computer, therefore, and while it's not exactly a gamer computer, it will be able to run mostly everything you throw on it. Speaking of gaming, the notebook comes with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics chipset with 32 MB dedicated video memory -- not exactly mind-blowing, but good enough to run such games as City of Heroes and Age of Empires II. It also comes with a V.90 modem, 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet, and an Intel PRO Wireless 2100 Network Connection. Sony also threw in Windows XP Home, Microsoft Money 2004, and a few other multimedia utilities for flavor. There are a few things that make the PCG-V505DX not the greatest of buys. A big reason is that the warranty doesn't cover the screen -- which is sort of an odd thing to not cover, considering the laptop screen is literally half of the laptop. There have also been some problems with the screen cracking, getting scratches and just plain ol' breaking down. Besides that, the keyboard is a bit small and uncomfortable and the integrated speakers are about as good as any laptop speaker -- which means they're bad. It's also a bit out of date, for a similar price, you can get a more dependable brand that's as good or better than this one. We like the PCG-V505DX, we really do. It's just that if you're spending a thousand dollars on a computer, you may want to look into some other brands before settling on this one.Technical DataProcessor, Memory, and Motherboard, Hardware Platform: PC Processor: 1.4 GHz Intel Pentium M, System Bus Speed: 400 MHz, Number of Processors: 1Operating System and Software, Operating System: Windows XP Home EditionKeyboard and Mouse, Keyboard: 86 key QWERTY layoutHard Drive Size: 60 GBOptical Drives, Other Mass Storage, Floppy Drive: NoneGraphics and Display Graphics RAM: 16 MB Screen Size: 12.1 inches LCD Native Resolution: 1024-by-768Ports and Connectivity Modem: 56 Kbps * Network Connection: 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet and WiFi Power Rated Charge (normal use): 6.5 Hours

Never Stop Loving

Why I can't be happy? There was a time I asked myself with this question that remained unanswered for so long. I began searching for the answer but still couldn’t find it…

As I ruminate the times I laughed and cried, emptiness was still buried inside me. I felt sorrow.. my soul was mourning and my heart was still bleeding…Why can’t I just be happy? What wrong have I done to suffer ?

I prayed and waited for the right time.. Years have passed, I thought I knew the answer.. I supposed I was ready to love again but definitely I failed and got hurt once more. A lot of my sacrifices were never valued… love that was trashed into ocean… broken promises and memories that easily faded and gone… Haaayy….I couldn’t bear it anymore, depression almost killed me!!!

Heartaches made me numb… I couldn't believe in the word “forever” . I was ready to face my life alone, as long as my family is there. Despite the pain, I prayed and asked God to help me be a stronger and better person, be able to forgive the people who hurt me and teach me to love again…. Until one day, I’ve met a man who has the same suffering as mine.

Hmmmm…Is he the man I have waited and prayed for? Is he the answer to all my questions?

Well, we became friends and turned out to be lovers. We are best of friends.. we understand one another’s feelings and we love, respect and trust each other. I know that God has plan for us. Just be patient on waiting and never stop loving because it is a gift from God ..

Oooppsss…before I forget, the man I’ve finally met and the answer to my prayers is no other than my hubby, Ens. Orland M. Espero. Thank you for loving me. You are my happiness.. my life...and the man i’m gonna love FOREVER

I am grateful to have you.. I love you so much hubby koh…

iPod touch

iPod touch is a portable media player and Wi-Fi mobile platform designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The product was launched on September 5, 2007 through an event called The Beat Goes On. The iPod touch adds the graphical user interfaces Cover Flow and Multi-Touch to the iPod line and is available with 8, 16 or 32 GB of flash memory. It includes Apple's Safari web browser and is the first iPod enabling wireless access to the iTunes Store. Beginning in June, the iPod touch will also have access to the App Store.

The iPod touch has the iPhone's multi-touch interface, with a physical home button off the touch screen. The home screen has a list of buttons for the available applications which include Music, Videos, Photos, iTunes, Safari, YouTube, Mail, Maps and Widgets. Software upgrades sold by Apple expand the iPod touch's functionality by adding more features.

As supplied new, the iPod touch needs a connection to a computer for initial configuration. Officially, Apple requires iTunes to be installed on either a Mac OS X or Windows operating system based computer for programming the iPod touch. On either operating system, the iPod touch needs a USB 2.0 port on the computer for data communications. The first time the iPod touch is turned on, the "cable to iTunes" graphic will be displayed continuously until the iPod touch senses iTunes.

To use the iPod touch for buying products at the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store via Wi-Fi an iTunes account is required, and can be created and programmed into the device via iTunes during the iPod touch registration process.

Apple states that the following are required for the iPod touch:

A computer running either:

Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later

Microsoft Windows XP with SP2 or Vista (32 or 64-bit versions)

iTunes 7.6 or later (7.4 and 7.5 support only 32-bit XP/Vista)

Available USB 2.0 port

The iPod touch is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, and, like the iPhone, includes the Safari browser and a viewing client for YouTube. The device's Wi-Fi capabilities can also be used to buy music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. Like the iPhone, the iPod touch does not support the 802.1x authentication method, making connectivity to some business, college/university, personal, and hospital networks impossible. The iPod touch 2.0 Software Update will reportedly support 802.1x authentication.

Screensaver Virus detected

Friday, April 25, 2008

If You like to download screensaver in the internet well just be careful to what you are downloading. Sometimes a very attractive screensaver will corrupt you’re system because the screensaver is a virus.

It was 2007 June when I come back to the Philippines. I want to change my current anti virus in my computer notebook to a new version of the anti virus. I uninstall my current anti virus (which is 2006 version) to a new 2007 issue. I install the software of the new anti virus in my computer notebook and update it on the internet. Then the update of the anti virus was finished and it’s ready to browse the internet and assured to protect my computer notebook to any virus in the internet. If you compare the Internet to a place, the internet is like a forest. There are many resources that you can use. There are many parasites that will affect you. Like the virus in the Internet, and the parasite in the forest are all the same. They will make trouble to you and make you suffer if you don’t have a protection like the anti virus. To tell you frankly my friend have a brother, his brother is a computer engr. The computer engr. Have something unique skills some of the people don’t know, especially if you are not a computer geek. Computer engr. Build or create a virus to spread in the internet and infect computer that don’t have an anti virus. They told me but I don’t really sure if it is true but definitely I believe it. In making a computer virus is a business. The one who create the anti virus is the one who create the virus. Just imagine how they can cure the virus if they don’t know the content of the virus.

As I browse the internet I was attracted to the free download screen saver. I know that this screen saver is a virus but I have my anti virus so when this screen saver has a virus my anti virus will block the virus that will enter to my computer notebook. As I click to download the screen saver my computer notebook hang for 10 minutes. I know that the screen saver was a virus and my anti virus is fighting it. After an a minutes of waiting my anti virus alarm and say’s the virus blah blah blah cannot block and now infecting your computer. I shut down my computer notebook and restart it again. As the Microsoft xp are loading there is a message appear in the middle of loading session. It says PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE BRING MY STRABERRY CAME FROM MY BAGUIO I was so shocked to see this to my system. I restart my computer notebook again and pray that I hope that I will not see the message again. Then the Microsoft xp are loading and the message appear again. Luckily I know how to reformat a computer so as soon as possible I reformat my computer notebook. It’s a headache to me because as the screen saver will make my computer notebook attractive it became to destroy my system. As I finish reformatting my computer notebook I restart again and I hope that I will not see the message again. Yes I did it, I fix my computer notebook and from this time I will not going to downloading a screen saver because maybe next time it will definitely destroy my computer.

Budol budol gang can't trick me.

Thursday, April 24, 2008

I remember, when this gang wants to fool me but it didn’t work out. It was 1500hrs May 2003. I was going to NTC in Quezon City to process some important papers. I was on LRT Gil Puyat station when I meet this guy. He asks some questions and I answer him ok what is your question? He asked if I know some store that sales a video cam. I answer him that you can find a Video cam in malls here in Manila. He told me that he doesn’t know where the mall is because he came to Batangas and he want the video cam as soon as possible because his sister will be getting married to Japanese. I already think that this is a Budul Budol gang. As you take note to the following. His sister will get married to Japanese. Remember that Japanese when is going someplace he will bring his own video cam and that is sop. If they don’t have a Video cam from Batangas going to Manila there will be a Mall in the vicinity so he is just fooling around that he don’t know anything.

I told him that come and we will ask to the guard if there are nearest store of video cam here. He replied that Maybe we can ask to that guy. I look at the guy and he is just waiting to us that we will be asking questions to him. Kulang as arte ang lalaking nakatambay wala pa kasing star struck noon eh. Any way Hint number 2 you will not afraid to talk to the police man and security guard in asking question. We talk to the guy as I asked the new guy that hey do you know the nearest store here that sales video cam. He told me that yup I know where to get some video cam. We were walking to road going to Cartimar. Hint number 3 I don’t think that there will be a video cam in Cartimar because once a week I’m buying fish food in Cartimar. Cartimar is a petshop area. I just get along to them but they didn’t know that I already know what they are planning to me. Before we get to the Cartimar the new guy told us that hey it’s a great idea if I will go by my own in Cartimar so that you will not be getting tired in searching for the cam. The guy from Batangas agrees that we will be staying outside of the Cartimar. Hint number 4 if you will going to buy something you must be there so that you can choose what the best item. After a few minutes the new guy came back to us and told us that he already seen a video and the price is 15,000 pesos. The Guy from Batangas scratch his head and he told me that he only have 10,000 pesos. I told him that I don’t have a money here and wait can I see the brochure of the cam please. He give me the brochure of the cam and it was an old photocopy paper of the Video cam. Hint number 5 any store in the Philippines will be using a colored paper for there product to attract the costumers. The new guy told us that he will be going back inside and ask some discount. The Batangas guy agrees to the new guy. I deeply talk to the Batangas guy that I don’t have enough time to get along with you but if you really want some video cam. I will drop you in Glorieta and you choose different cam there. The Batangas guy don’t want to go to Glorieta and I told him, okay if that’s what you want I’m leaving and I have important matters to do so just talk to the other guy to buy you a Video cam. I ride a Jeep and proceed to NTC.

On the next day I talk to my co-utility in the office to tell him what is happened to be yesterday. As I’m telling the story infront of him. He just butted in and tell me is the 1st guy is a thin one? I told him yes and the other one is a fat guy and he always wears a baseball cap? I told him yes why do you asked? Then he just tells me that last week these two guys get his mobile phone in Monumento. They are asking about this video cam, same story as mine but they didn’t get me so they just waste there time on me. Nice experienced to me hehehehe..

Once upon a Seaman (again)...

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

I know most of us seaman are semanloloko but I will tell you something about this topic. Not all seaman are manloloko please understand. If all of us are Seamanloloko why does other seaman have a happy family that stays together and live together. We have rights to be respected like we respect others. Not only the seamen have manloloko but other courses and industries have manloloko too.

I was on a canteen of a training center. I was drinking a soda while playing my Rubik cube. The cashier there was nice and she was very respectful (di makabasag Plato). Her mobile phone rang and she answered the call. I didn’t listen to them because I was busy playing my Rubik cube and I understand the rule of privacy. I think the one who called the cashier lady was a seaman because the cashier said to the one who called her (ganyan naman kayong mga seaman eh mga manloloko). I was so shocked on what I’ve heard to her and I dropped my Rubik cube. I got her attention by staring at her but she smiled at me. She thought that nagpapacute ako sa kanya but deep inside I was boiling in angry. After she finished her conversation on her mobile phone then she asked me. Yes sir what do you what? I answered quickly and told her please don’t call the entire seaman that all seamen are seamanloloko. She asked why? I told her that I’m a seaman and naloko ako nga babae so you don’t have the right to say that we are all manloloko. She was so shocked to know that I’m a seaman. She never thought that I’m a seaman because I don’t have a looks of a seaman. I told here what’s the problem? Why are you calling us seamanloloko? She told me that the seaman who called her was courting her and the seaman want to get married with her and live together with her. The problem is the seaman has already had family and he has a 9 months old baby on his previous wife. The seaman told the cashier girl that she loves the cashier girl. The cashier girl doesn’t want that to happen so she didn't agree to the seaman talking about.

I told the cashier girl that don’t agree to the seaman because if the wife of the seaman caught both of you living together, both of you will go to jail and if you want some annulment it will be a long year process. I told her just don’t mention that all seaman are manloloko because there are seamen who've been fooled by there wives and beside be careful to say bad things to seaman because you are in a training center of the seaman. Even the instructors here are seaman too. The cashier girl didn’t know what to do and she couldn't speak because of what she has done. After I finished drinking my soda, I told her ok just take care and good luck. We know that there are some seamanloloko out there but the point is not all of us are manloloko. Like what I've said earlier even people with other courses and jobs are manloloko. I’ve been fooled before and I had already trauma with the person who has the same job as my ex-gf. I know not all of them are the same but I already had trauma on them .

Baby Maker

Monday, April 21, 2008

I don’t really believe that this job exists. I’ve seen this on the news few weeks ago. The agreement is this, the woman will be got pregnant by a guy and if the woman will give birth to the baby the guy will get the baby and pay the woman about 40,000 pesos. They do this job because they are poor and they don’t have enough money to live everyday.

The news caster interviewed one of the baby maker and asked the baby maker why you do this. The baby maker replied with a soft voice, I do this because I don’t have a work and I don’t have enough income everyday. This is the only work that I know that I can earn a big money. The reporter asked who did this. The baby maker replied, there is a husband and wife that talk to me that if I agreed to become pregnant because his wife have a problem in giving birth. Before we do this his wife agrees to it without hesitation on his husband doing it to me. We do it in front of his wife and its ok to her just to have a baby after 9 months waiting. How much they pay you? They pay me 40,000 pesos when I give birth. For now they are paying me 2000 pesos a month for vitamins and milk for there baby. Sometimes when I’m alone I was talking to my baby that, baby sorry if I do this. I really need a money to survive to everyday life just be nice to your new mom and dad someday my baby.

Another baby maker was interviewed by the reporter. The reporter asked how old are you? The girl replied I’m only 14 years old. Why do you do this job and your still young? I don’t have enough money so I do this, I want to study and finish till college that’s why I do this baby maker. Who did this to you? A foreigner, He is giving me 10,000 pesos a month when we make this baby. He will pay me 10,000 pesos till I finish in college. When I give birth to the baby he will give me 50,000 pesos plus the 10,000 pesos a month for my studies. I know that this job is cruel but all I want is to study and finish in college. That’s all I want that’s why I got into this job. I really don’t have enough money to finished studying and baby maker is the solution from it.

From the story that we’ve been read, I know that it’s difficult from them doing this but they don’t have a choice. Sometimes helping each other is important so that nothing of this baby maker exist on earth.

From bad days to good days

(I just want to tell something about my terrible past). I remember when I have a heart problem. It’s just like all of the problems in the world are pressing me down to my last breath. I don’t know what to do but fight back but I really don’t have enough strength to fight all this problems. Every steps of the way are difficult to reach. One day it's like equivalent to 10 years every day in the row. I only want to make my self happy. I become loyal and honest to everything but I think it’s not enough to be loyal and honest in that situation.

This is my terrible experience in my life, a life of someone that doesn’t belong to the club. Love grows but I think the love is growing like a ghost plant. Ready to harvest but there is nothing to harvest. It shakes my whole body and soul in that moment. I don’t really know what’s going on. Something is different and I really don’t expect the changes. Months of sacrifices and pain, I become free. I don’t know where to go and I’m afraid to try again. People are people try and try until you die. I become cold and bitter to everyone. From Humans that surrounds me to the mosquito sucking my blood and I think that there will be no tomorrow for me. A dream of a nice tomorrow will comfort me till my last breath.

This is my last chance to prove that I can try again. I love again and hoping that this love will be forever. I want to grow and to be a father someday. Hoping to have a cute child will be hugging me when I end my contract to the ship that I’ve been working with. Everyday, lunch time will reach me outside of the street. I don’t have enough money to buy a food so I just drink plenty of water. This is whats happening to me because I’ve been blind before. Blind of something that will make me suffer. It’s all because of my wrong decisions that I suffer this tragedy. I don’t really have the idea that this will be happening to me. Thank you very much that I’ve learned my lesson.

I try to look forward and continue my path. From the bad day past, it changes to a very good day for me. All of my sufferings are ended to the drop line. I really don’t know that my cruel world will be changed by a very heaven place because of my wifey. I know that we will be having a lot of tests in our relationship but we will be ready for that. They say that destiny is destiny and path is my path. We are doing our path and destiny so we must strive hard so that our path and destiny will be successful. My life now is more energetic and peaceful. I don’t want to loose this happy moments from my wifey. We will be climbing the highest hill just to achieve our dream. We will be united for our dreams. 2 heads are better than one; these is our relationship helping each other and understand both of our dreams and needs. Thank you very much that you came into my life wifey.

To blog or not to blog

Blog, what is Blog? According to my research a blog is a blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs.

There are many different types of blogs, differing not only in the type of content, but also in the way that content is delivered or written.

Personal blogs

The personal blog, an on-going diary or commentary by an individual, is the traditional, most common blog. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them. Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life or works of art. Blogging can have a sentimental quality. Few personal blogs rise to fame and the mainstream, but some personal blogs quickly garner an extensive following.

Corporate blogs

A blog can be private, as in most cases, or it can be for business purposes. Blogs, either used internally to enhance the communication and culture in a corporation or externally for marketing, branding or PR purposes are called corporate blogs.

By media type

A blog comprising videos is called a vlog, one comprising links is called a linklog a site containing a portfolio of sketches is called a sketchblog or one comprising photos is called a photoblog Blogs with shorter posts and mixed media types are called tumblelogs.

An Artlog is a form of art sharing and publishing in the format of a blog, but differentiated by the predominant use of and focus on Art work rather than text.

A rare type of blog hosted on the Gopher Protocol is known as a Phlog

By device

Blogs can also be defined by which type of device is used to compose it. A blog written by a mobile device like a mobile phone or PDA could be called a moblog One early blog was Wearable Wireless Webcam, an online shared diary of a person's personal life combining text, video, and pictures transmitted live from a wearable computer and EyeTap device to a web site. This practice of semi-automated blogging with live video together with text was referred to as sousveillance. Such journals have been used as evidence in legal matters.

By genre

Some blogs focus on a particular subject, such as political blogs, travel blogs, fashion blogs, project blogs, education blogs, niche blogs, classical music blogs, legal blogs (often referred to as a blawgs) or dreamlogs. While not a legitimate type of blog, one used for the sole purpose of spamming is known as a Splog.

So in the long run blog means a public diary that compose of everything you want to write. From Technology, Pictures, Video, and links etc etc. My first time to see a blog is when my batch mates in our school candidates me to the Shipmate of the month of February 2008. I was shock when I see the blogsite. I’m one of the candidate and there are people who are voting me for the shipmate of the month of February 2008. His blog was all about our school activities. From Classes, parades, and privilege of every class. I sign up to have my own blog in that day, actually I don’t know how to use a blog. Then after a week there was a girl from the states e mailed me and the title is attention bloggers. I read the mail and watch the attached video. The blog is a public diary that you can earn money to the visitor who was visiting your blog. The more visitors visit your blog the more money will be collected by the blogger. The Site will pay you check etc etc etc. I made up my mind to revive my blogsite and use it to have an extra income. Worst come to worst I didn’t pay attention to the earnings of the blog but I was interested to write all my sufferings in my love life. Blogger help me to ease and to release the pain inside of my heart.

In the first week of my blog, it’s just a plain classy blog. There are no visitors who visit my blog. I promote my blog to my friendster account to read my articles. Sometimes 5 person per day visit my blog and I’m very happy not to the earnings of the blog but I’m happy that there are reading my blog. I created a contest called Mariners muse. I ask permission to the contestant if it’s ok to them to post there picture in my blog and every people who visit my blog will vote them. I accept it, sometimes there some typographical errors in spellings and grammars. I didn’t tolerate it but I check my entire article and read it. Sometimes even the dictionary and other books have typographical errors too. There are no perfect but I’m trying to be perfect on my blog. It practices me to be confident in writing articles. Sometimes there are some comments that you must do this, you must do that and this and that and many that can be done by that. They are creating a new rule in writing a blog. From the top research a blog is a public diary and a public diary is a non rule to anyone that can be rule by everything else. This is my blog I have the right to choose what I will write to it because it’s a public diary. There no republic acts of the blah blah blah that I will follow. I know the limitations of the blog and off course I will follow the limitations but the rule of another that I must do this and that. That is there own brain, I don’t mind but I think they must create there own blog to use there knowledgeable and mind so they can write there own article and everything. From 2,434 visited by blog there are 2 negative comments on my blog. Thank you very much to the negative comments. That means there are challenging me to improve my blog and make it better. Charge to experience that what they say and beside from 2434 visited my blog and 2 negative comment wala pang 1% ang negative comment. There is a saying that if the mango tree is rich of mango’s some people will throw the stone in the mango’s because mabunga in tagalog. Parang ganun din ang blog ko Mabunga kaya binabato. I will never stop writing to my blog, I will take care of this blog because this blog help me before to ease my pain.

South Korea

Sunday, April 20, 2008

I can’t remember the date that I’ve been in South Korea but its unforgettable experience if you will visit this country. It’s a winter session for the Korean when I visited this country. I don’t have the problem to adopt a cold weather because I really like winter session even there no winter session in the Philippines. I really like cold places and I want to feel the intense cold of this country. I don’t wear thick working cloth so I can feel the sting of the cold weather. They said that Korean girls are very pretty and I agree to that. From there TV channel and staring them when I’m going to shore, they are really pretty.

Our captain told us that he will be going ashore and he asked to us if we like to come with him. I raise my hand quickly as possible. I’m very excited to see the place outside. It’s much more different when you watch there television movies than see them in person. We go ashore at 2000hrs and we ride the service boat from our ship. It takes us 30 minutes to arrive in the shore. There are some Koreans outside that inviting us to there bar and its free transport going to the bar and going back to the service boat. Hollywood, Las Vegas disco bar was famous in Unsan Korea. They are famous to the Filipino seaman because they have a filipino girls who work there. After 20 minutes of traveling we arrive in Las Vegas and Holly wood bar. The Filipinas greet us Magandang gabi kabayan!. We Order some beer and guest what, libre ang pulutan, it’s a white, malutong na popcorn. We finish 2 bottles of beer about an hour. I and my crewmate decide to go out side without a coat. It’s 0 degree Celsius outside and we dare to each other that we will go out without our coat. My crewmates agree to me so we went out to the bar and roam around the city. We look some shoe store and it’s a branded name shoes and it’s very expensive. In the street we see a vendor. We look at her product of the vendor and I was so shocked. It’s a fried culture worm. My crewmate told me if I want a fried worm…. I told him that I don’t like a fried worm but can I taste it? My crewmate ask permission to the vendor like this “mama san can we taste the worm… only one” the vendor agree to taste the fried worm and I taste it. Taste like chicken! But even its taste like a chicken I still don’t buy the worm. Instead, I buy tuyung spicy pusit. After an hour roaming around the City we decided to go back in the bar because we will be coming back to the ship after 1 hour.

The time had come to go back to the ship as our captain required. Before we go inside to the service, the Filipinas who work there told us ingat kami at babalik kami. We just say yes we will go back but we don’t really know if we will be getting back to there place. We already back to the ship and I decide to wear my duty uniform because I will be having my duty after 30 minutes. It’s very windy and cold. I look at the temperature at the bridge and it’s a negative 19. It’s much colder that Boston which the lowest temperature in Boston is negative 18.

Abojeb Instructor in Super Ferry 1

Saturday, April 19, 2008

We leave manila at 1800 hrs. I was in charge of teaching onboard super ferry for deck cadets and (SRC) Seaman rating course. Being an instructor is not an easy task. You must study all the subject matter when you are teaching to answer all the question of the students. The goal is to familiarize and discuss about the navigation subject in actual. I’m handling 26 cadets from AGRO and 50 cadets in Mindanao Polytechnic. 0800hrs. we gather all the cadets in the recreation area of Super Ferry one. The PMI manila was the freshmen in this voyage. We gave there plantilla and assignments while on board the Ship. While the agro and Mindanao Polytechnic was half session to there ship board training, we arrange all the groups and discus what we will do tomorrow morning. 2300hrs I go to the bridge to see if the cadets who are in duty are ok. They ask some question about the equipment in the bridge and how they can use it. I answer them in a clear and proper way so that they can understand it easily. After an hour I leave the bridge at I decide to go to sleep.

0900hrs 15 April 2008 I started to teach the Mindanao polytechnic and the AGRO cadets. We start from the familiarization of there Plantilla on how they will answer the given questions. I discuss on how they can distinguished the force of the sea and how they can understand the right procedure of proper bunkering. Everybody are listening to me because they want to learn something that they did not yet tackle when they are still in there schools. I want to have a class in the afternoon so I call the entire AGRO cadet and the Mindanao polytechnics to start our class. One of the cadets told me that the AGRO engineering’s are practicing for the graduation which will be this night. Then I change my mind and told my cadets that I will cancel the class and they can have there practice. So I dismiss my class and they shout for joy kasi walang pasok. I start to familiarize my self in super ferry 1. I walk to all decks of the super ferry. From the lowest part of the ship till the upper part

We call the cadets at 1930 hrs to prepare on there graduation. I collect all the evaluation forms and I will pass that evaluation forms in the office. That will be my grade in Jebsen when will I’ll be back to the Manila. We instructed some cadets to fix the chairs in Island fiesta. The cadets report to us that the island fiesta is ready to use. So they proceed in Island Fiesta by one line man. From opening remarks, sharing ideas of the cadets, you can feel that they are thankful that we teach them some knowledge in ship works. Every School has a surprise performance like the AGRO engine cadet. They Dance the Mr. Suave and we are laughing like a hell while they perform In front of us. Our senior announced that thank you very much on your performance cadets and now di naman papatalo ang mga instructor nyo kaya kakanta din sila. They clap there hand and shout that go go go sir. We finish the program at 2000 hrs and we told the cadets that they are allowed to have a disco but they are not allowed to drink beer.

I watch the entire cadet while they are having there celebration. I’m an instructor and I have the right to look at them for security purpose. 16th of April 2008, about 0900 hrs we gather the entire PMI cadet to have a class in Sundeck by 2nd officer Cornejo. I was assisting my senior while he is teaching. The ETA in Gensan is 1200 hrs and 2nd officer Cornejo teach of familiarize the cadets in maneuvering in entering port. We assign the entire PMI cadets to forward part of the ship so that they can see the forward mooring operation. The entire PMI cadets ask some question regarding to the parts and ideas in mooring maneuvering. I explain briefly and slowly to them the operation. After and hour of waiting the mooring operation starts. They are watching the forward group of the super ferry 1 and the cadets ask some question to me again and again and again. We stay at Gensan port about an hour and we proceed to the next port which is the Davao port.

We arrive at Davao port at 2200 hrs and we assist the cadets in going ashore. No smoking, No littering, and no spitting in the street. If the policemen see us doing this the policemen will bring us to jail. After an hour we go back to the ship, me and engr Pineda get our things to the ship because our last port is Davao. Our flight will be tomorrow (April 17, 2008) going back to manila by Cebu Pacific. I sign all the training certificate of the cadets and the PMI cadet says “Sir Goodbye sir and have a nice trip”. Friendly akong tao and malungkot ako pag umaalis ako sa isang lugar at iiwanan yung bagong kaibigan ko at hindi sigurado kung magkikita pa kami ulit. We arrive at the Hotel which is located in front of the pier at 0130 hrs. Our flight tomorrow will be 0730 hrs so we must wake up early about 0430 hrs to prepare our self and not to be late.

We arrive at the Davao International Airport and the airport was nice and beautiful. It’s much more advanced than the domestic airport in manila. After 1 hour and 30 minutes we arrive at Manila and report to Jebsen for our requirement and have a nice come back celebration in our house, Nice to be home again!

Weird Commercial

Friday, April 18, 2008

I don’t watch television show everyday but I look on a television about 2 minutes and I’ll turn off the television because of a nonsense telemovies and news everyday. The life now here in the Philippines was devastating and hard. Almost all of the products that you are using are increasing there prices. Then the salary of the people wont increase, I think the salary of the people here in the people increase about 30 pesos. What the use of this 30 pesos in our daily leaving if the increase of products here in the Philippines was twice form the increase of the salary. You can feel what’s going on here in the Philippines. It becomes hard to live here in our country. Almost all the Filipino people want to work in other country. Others are migrating for the future to be successful.

I don’t like the commercial of our president in the television. She always says in her commercial that the Philippine governments are improving and it become to be successful. How come that our country are becoming successful? Do you feel the improvement of our country? From rice shortage, ZTE scandal, Low on budgets on the government, over price projects, do you think that is the improvement of the Philippines? The President says the there will be not poor people in the country. Well how about the street children are they rich? I don’t get the idea that the president always says to the commercial that the Philippines are improving and getting better. We are not blind to see the suffering of the Country. We know that the commercial in television are the most absorb of the Filipino brain but it’s obvious to see in the street what are happening. We know that we all have the responsibility what s going on here but it’s all in the leaders in the Government will control in this responsibilities. How can I live here in the Philippines and have a happy future if this country is getting worst. They are using the commercial to blind all the people.

The country is getting worst and the most affected in this situation are the OFW. We are working aboard for our family to give them a better life. The salaries of the OFW are much better than working here in the country. The Country is getting worst then the currencies of the dollars are getting low. From 57 pesos in 1 US dollars now it’s only 41. We are happy that the dollars are getting low sign of improvement of the country. But the question is the gasoline and other products must lower there price because the Dollar currency are improving. Perhaps the price of the gasoline and other products are still increasing. It’s getting more stupid and nonsense for now.

Bermuda Triangle A myth or Real.

Monday, April 14, 2008

You won't find it on any official map and you won't know when you cross the line, but according to some people, the Bermuda Triangle is a very real place where dozen of ships, planes and people have disappeared with no good explanation. Since a magazine first coined the phrase "Bermuda Triangle" in 1964, the mystery has continued to attract attention. When you dig deeper into most cases, though, they are much less mysterious. Either they were never in the area to begin with, they were actually found, or there is a reasonable explanation for their disappearance.

Does this mean there is nothing to the claims of so many who have had odd experiences in the Bermuda Triangle? Not necessarily. Scientists have documented deviations from the norm in the area and have found some interesting formations on the seafloor within the Bermuda Triangle's boundaries. So, for those who like to believe in it, there is plenty fuel for the fire.

In this article, we'll look at the facts surrounding what we do know about the area as well as some of the most commonly-recited stories. We will also explore the bizarre theories like aliens and space portals as well as the mundane explanations.

Many think of the Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, as an "imaginary" area. The U. S. Board of Geographic Names does not recognize the Bermuda Triangle and does not maintain an official file on it. However, within this imaginary area, many real vessels and the people aboard them have seemingly disappeared without explanation.

The Bermuda Triangle is located off the Southeastern coast of the United States in the Atlantic Ocean, with its apexes in the vicinities of Bermuda, Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. It covers roughly 500,000 square miles.

The area may have been named after its Bermuda apex since Bermuda was once known as the "Isle of Devils." Treacherous reefs that have ensnared ships sailing too close to its shores surround Bermuda, and there are hundreds of shipwrecks in the waters that surround it.

I just want to have a comment in this article regarding the Bermuda triangle. In the past, the Bermuda triangle exists. Now a day the Bermuda triangle is just a myth. Why is that Bermuda triangle are not famous or active in this year?

Before the ship and airplane was just an ordinary metal floating or navigating the sea. They do not have distress devices that trigger and send message to the near coast station to help them when they are in distress. If there are distress devices in that year, it is not perfect like in this year. In Airplane, a device called EBL (emergency locator beacon). It is a device that when the airplane is in distress (danger) the EBL will transmit a signal to the Inmarsat satellite or cospas/sarsat satellite. The satellite will transmit the message to the LUT (local user terminal) and the LUT will transmit the message to the RCC (rescue coordinating center to help the airplane in distress. In ship there is a device called EPIRB (emergency Position Indicting Radio Beacon). A device when the ship sunk about 3 to 4 meters the EPIRB will release it self in the ship (hydrostatic release). When the EPIRB is floating this device will send a distress device to the satellite (Inmarsat satellite and cospas satellite) and the satellite will transmit the distress message to the near Local user terminal and the LUT will send to the RCC(rescue coordinating center that there is vessel is in distress and need immediate help.

That is the reason why the Bermuda triangle does not exist anymore or the Bermuda do not have any victim now a days. It’s because of our technology that help us in this day.

I stay for almost 26 months working on the ship. Our loading port was St. Croix Virgin Island the destination is East coast of America. In my whole contract to the ship, we always pass or go inside to the Bermuda triangle to be in our destination in East coast of America. In that situation nothing cruel, happen to us when navigating inside the Bermuda triangle. To be in our Discharging port which is the East coast of America.
