Estimated Price in the Philippines 12,999 Pesos as of April 28, 2008

The PSP will be capable of playing PlayStation 2 quality games (3D graphics, full motion video, etc). The system will come in black, offers a small size and ergonomic design and will measure 70mm x 74mm x 23mm with a weight of 260g. The PSP will feature a 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD display, capable of full-color (16.77 million colors) on a 480 x 272 pixel high-resolution screen. Other basic functions include built-in stereo speakers, exterior headphone connector, brightness control, sound mode selection, and a key layout that is similar to the PS One and PS2. The system will also offers support for USB 2.0, and 802.11b (Wi-Fi) wireless LAN, online gaming, and the ability to download data from either a Wi-Fi connection or USB to a Memory Stick PRO Duo.

The PSP will use high capacity optical medium UMD (Universal Media Disc) for its game software and other forms of digital entertainment content. The UMD is 60mm in diameter and can store up to 1.8GB of digital data. A broad range of digital entertainment content such as music video clips, movies and sports programs can be provided on UMD because of its large storage capacity. The UMD will also feature a copyright protection system which utilizes a combination of a unique disc ID, a 128 bit AES encryption keys, and individual ID for each PSP hardware unit.

SCE is also showing a number of interesting USB-enabled accessories (and other extras) like a camera, a stand, a global positioning system (GPS), headphones with a remote commander, headphones with remote commander and microphone, an external battery pack, a carrying case, and a strap.
